A new pedestrian crosswalk has been installed across Novavista Drive in St. Vital, near École Julie-Riel, which connects the wards of Coun. Brian Mayes (St. Vital) and Coun. Markus Chambers (St. Norbert-Seine River).
In a statement, Chambers said he’s happy to have collaborated on the local safety initiative with Mayes. “The safety of pedestrians is very important in our communities and I look forward to working towards adding more high visibility pedestrian crosswalks, to keep school children and seniors safe in the ward.”
“Councillor Chambers and I both have sons who attended École Julie-Riel. This crosswalk will enhance safety for students. What a great collaboration with the school and the surrounding community on this project,” Mayes added.
