Baljeet Sharma is running for city council in St. Vital in the Oct. 24 civic election.


Sharma has lived in St. Vital for around 17 years.

In his campaign material, Sharma said he is motivated to run because Winnipeg "has given (him) so much."


"It is time to give back and serve Winnipeggers by being their voice and raise their issues at appropriate (forums) and city council happens to be one of them," his campaign material reads.  


Sharma declined an request for an interview.
