Crestview School is welcoming all comers for its 50th anniversary on Thurs., May 30.
“We want people to come, people who live in the area or have a connection to Crestview in any way, we would welcome them,” said principal Sandra Simonson.
The celebration, which will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., will include a student performance, refreshments, and displays of more than 500 photos from the school’s past.
Items from the school’s 25th and 40th anniversary time capsules will also be on display, and a new time capsule will be sealed away until the school’s 75th anniversary.
Simonson said she expects a good turnout, as the school is treasured by its alumni.
Staff often notice students from past years having their pictures taken in front of the school, she said.
“The families, and the people that I’ve met, hold this school so close and dear to their hearts,” Simonson said.
The school will be wide open for roaming and mingling, with music from bygone eras playing throughout.
It will be an “awesome opportunity for the community to come back into the school and find those memories, and the people who are so near and dear to them,” Simonson said.
