Assiniboia Downs to get hotels, retail space

Soon, Assiniboia Downs will be known for more than just racing.

The Manitoba Jockey Club and Peguis First Nation have formed FN Developments Inc. to carry out a new development that will be taking place at Assiniboia Downs.

“Our initial development plan will see hotels, convention and retail space on the land adjoined to the Downs,” Peguis First Nation Chief Glenn Hudson said in a release.

FN Developments Inc. will provide more detailed development plans in 2014.
