An international marketing company recently launched its first Canadian office in Winnipeg to offer services exclusively for entrepreneurs and young business owners.

The Marketing Department Worldwide provides advertising and consultancy services with a network of offices located throughout the United States, as well as in Egypt and the Philippines.
And as of June 1, the Winnipeg branch opened at 4-329 Cumberland Ave. to increase options for local business owners.

Aaron Newnham, managing partner for The Marketing Department Winnipeg, explains that a centralized creative services centre fulfils all the creative work for all the different branches.

“The idea behind it is that we’re able to provide really high-level strategic marketing support to small business owners and entrepreneurs at a price they can afford,” he said.

“I think it’s a segment of the market that unfortunately is often overlooked. The reason for that is the traditional agencies can’t afford to deal with the small business owners on a lot of occasions.”

That’s where The Marketing Department Winnipeg steps in to enhance options for this niche.

“I had identified the gap in the market here and was looking for people to partner with as a solution provider. I came across The Marketing Department and I reached out to them. It was through my interaction that the discussion started and we decided to open up here,” Newnham said.

“We’re here to support the small businesses in the community and help them flourish. We’re always happy to chat with new businesses and young entrepreneurs.”

Newnham is no stranger to the realm of marketing, since he is best known for the five years he spent as a director of advertising sales for the Winnipeg Free Press.

“My area of expertise is definitely advertising and marketing. A big part of what we do is to promote what makes small businesses remarkable in the marketplace,” he said.

“That word ‘remarkable’ seems to resonate with people. It helps them understand that you need to do things a little bit differently in order to stand out and create the best possible environment to succeed in the market.”
