The definition of underdog is “a competitor thought to have little chance of winning a fight or contest.”
Well, I believe the new Underdogs Kitchen & Bar located at the corner of Thompson Drive and Portage Avenue (2609 Portage, to be exact) is a slam dunk.
It’s set to open on Dec. 8, and the owners are excited about introduce an everyday hangout sports bar and pub-style establishment. They are also proud to offer and support a wide variety of beer from our local craft breweries. Equally as important to the team is their extremely skilled head chef that is passionate about creating memorable food experiences that are reasonably priced.
What will make this venue unique will be the fun-with-friends interactive, sports-oriented games everyone can play. With 7,500 square-feet to work with, the owners have put a lot of thought into their games that will ensure men and women will walk away with a great experience no matter what your skill level may be (or zippo in my case). In fact, Underdogs will have an entire gaming side that will includes ski-ball (too long to describe but sounds so fun), basketball and ping pong that friends or couples can try.
Did I mention they also have 48 television screens and will host live entertainment, in their beer hall area?
Underdogs wants to bring a different kind of bar and restaurant to our community. And in this upside-down world, we can all use more laughs, a fun environment and delicious food.
I have no doubt that our new residents will get a warm welcome, just in time for the Christmas celebrations to begin.
