City councillor candidates for west Winnipeg 
The nomination period for Winnipeg’s municipal election ended on Sept. 18. Here is a list of all the city council and school trustee candidates running in west Winnipeg. 
Following the 2018 ward boundary changes, the new Charleswood-Tuxedo ward includes the neighbourhoods of Westwood, Charleswood, Tuxedo and Wilkes South. Former councillor Marty Morantz is not seeking re-election.
Candidates in this ward include: 
• Kevin Klein; 
• Kevin Nichols; 
• Grant Nordman; and 
• Ken St. George. 
The St. James ward now includes the neighbourhoods of Crestview and St. James. 
Candidates in this ward include: 
• Shawn Dobson (incumbent); 
• Scott Gillingham (incumbent for St. Charles); and
• Kurt Morton.
The Daniel McIntyre ward boundaries remain the same and include the neighbourhoods of Wolseley, the West End and Weston. 
Candidates in this ward include: 
• Josh Brandon 
• Cindy Gilroy (incumbent); and
• Sarowar Miah. 
School trustee candidates
Voters will also be asked to select candidates for school trustees on election day on Oct. 24. 
Six candidates are running for three positions in Ward 1 of the Pembina Trails School Division, which covers all of Charleswood. The candidates are: 
• Corey Burgess;
• Jaime Glenat (incumbent);
• Gerry Melnyk (incumbent); 
• Jessica Perry; 
• Dianne Zuk (incumbent); and 
• Sam Zurzolo. 
The St. James-Assiniboia School Division has three wards and includes the neighbourhoods of Crestview, Westwood and St. James. Three trustees will be elected to each of the wards. 
The candidates for the King Edward-Deer Lodge ward include:
• Nicole Bowering;
• Holly Hunter;
• Jennifer Lawson (incumbent);
• Vicki Rempel; 
•Adam Taplin; and
• Peter Woods (incumbent).
The candidates for the Kirkfield–St. Charles ward include:
•  Bruce Chegus (incumbent);
•  Sandy Lethbridge (incumbent);
•  Zachary Linnick;
•  Lou Mulvenna;
•  Charles Ramjug;
•  Cheryl Smukowich (incumbent); and
•  Megan Wegert.
Candidates for the Silver Heights–Booth ward include:
• Tracey Drexler;
• Craig Glennie;
• Craig Johnson (incumbent);
• Craig McGregor (incumbent);
• Kris Kendall; and
• Bryan Metcalfe.
West Winnipeg covers three wards of the Winnipeg School Division. In Ward 4, incumbent trustee Lisa Naylor was running unopposed and has been elected by acclamation. One trustee will be elected from each of the remaining wards in the division.
The following candidates are running in Ward 5:
• Kevin Freedman (incumbent); and
• Cindy Murdoch.
The following candidates are running in Ward 6:
• Yijie Chen; and
• Rey Sangalang.
