Are you searching for the perfect holiday gift while also seeking to support an array of local businesses?
The West End BIZ has got you covered with locally sourced holiday gift boxes it has put together with goods from 14 different businesses in the area.
“The gift boxes are a great way to support our local businesses and discover new businesses in Winnipeg’s West End neighbourhood,” said BIZ communications and marketing co-ordinator Aurora Debreuil.
Three different holiday gift boxes are available: Winter Day in the West End for $50; A Taste of the West End for $75; and A Day for Two for $100.
“This is the first year we have offered the holiday gift boxes. We are always looking for new ways to promote the West End and support our business members, and this seemed like the perfect initiative going into the holidays,” Debreuil said.
“We also saw a strong movement to and eagerness to shop local this holiday season, and we thought that this would be a great convenient way for folks to support our local businesses while also potentially discovering new local businesses in our neighbourhood.”
The gift boxes are stocked with items from an eclectic assortment of West End businesses, including DeLuca’s, Scout Coffee + Tea, Mordens’ Chocolates, Goodies Bake Shop, Hildegard’s Bakery, Wilderness Supply, Barn Hammer Brewing Company, Wall Street Slice, Preserve by Flora and Farmer, Melt Chocolate Company, Wolseley Kombucha, Ayoko Design, Food for Thought, and ReFill.
“The holiday gift boxes are geared for folks who are looking for ways to help support our local businesses during these difficult times,” Debreuil said.
“But because we have a range of boxes that include a variety of goods from coffee to snowshoe rentals, there is something for everyone in the boxes.”
This year, it’s more important than ever to shop local, she added.
“This has been a very difficult year for our business community and many of our business members have been greatly impacted by COVID-19,” she said.
“Our local businesses play an important role in our community and neighbourhood, and we encourage everyone to help support our local businesses in any way that you can.”
Shoppers have until Dec. 11 to place their orders online at www.westendbiz.ca, where they can also see which items are included in each gift box. The boxes will be available for safe curbside pickup on Dec. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the West End BIZ office, located at 581 Portage Ave.
