Big Buds lights up Ness Avenue

A new St. James cannabis store has sparked up interest in the local community.

Big Buds Cannabis Sales, located at Unit J- 3025 Ness Ave., hosted its grand opening on Thursday, March 25.

Store manager Sharon Clark and her friendly staff welcomed customers to check out their brand new retail space in the Sturgeon Creek strip mall.

“It was really well received. We had an incredibly busy first day, and a lot of people who came in welcomed us to the community. They said that they’ve been driving by and waiting for us to open for a while,” she said.

“Plus, we had a lot of compliments on the inside of our store. People are really happy to have us here. Customers came in because of our convenient location and said they will be back because of our great selection and amazing, knowledgeable staff.”

True to their word, repeat customers began to return on the shop’s second day in business, she added.

“The owners of Big Buds Cannabis Sales are well respected in the area, which is a huge asset moving forward,” Clark said.

“It was an amazing reception. “We’ve had all walks of life — a real variety. People are just excited to have us.”

Owned by a local family, Big Buds Cannabis Sales specializes in cannabis products and accessories, including dried flower, pre-rolls and vape pens. It also sells items such as edibles, beverages, candles, hand lotions and bath bombs. In addition, customers can find a selection of grinders, kits with lighters and pipes, and an array of bongs.

To enter the store, customers must be age 19 or older.

“We’re just your friendly neighbourhood cannabis store,” Clark said.

In celebration of the grand opening, the local business offered in-store giveaways, as well as in-store and online contests.

On the Facebook page for Big Buds Cannabis Sales (@bigbudssales), folks can like, share and tag a post for a chance to win a merchandise package. The entry deadline is April 19 and the prize draw will take place on April 20 (a.k.a. 4/20).

In addition to shopping in the store, customers will soon have the chance to place orders online through the website at www.bigbudcannabissales.ca, which is still pending approval from Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries.

Big Buds Cannabis Sales is open seven days a week with hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
