Chimney Swift Initiative to the rescue

The John Howard Society was recently visited by the Manitoba Chimney Swift Initiative, a local organization that monitors the habitats of a small brown bird known as the chimney swift. MCSI, with private and government funding, helps to maintain and replace existing chimneys in an effort to conserve the declining species of swifts. After an inspection at JHS determined that their chimney was in disrepair, a bricklayer restored the chimney as a possible habitat for the little birds.
