Michael Bazak, Manitoba Liberal Party candidate for Roblin, is a newbie when it comes to politics, but that doesn’t discourage him.
The 41-year-old, who works as a certified accountant, said he wasn’t planning on running for office until
recently but has always had a strong interest in politics.

"I thought, ‘This is an opportunity,’" he said, referring to having heard about the need for more Liberal Party candidates earlier this month.
Bazak and his wife now live in Whyte Ridge, but he grew up in Garden City, and also lived in the Crestview area for six years.
He said he realizes that he’s behind other candidates in terms of putting up lawn signs and knocking on doors, but he plans to get to as many homes in Headingley and Charleswood as possible.
Also running in Roblin are Green Party candidate Kevin Nichols and Myrna Driedger for the Progressive Conservative Party. An interview with NDP candidate Sophie Brandt Murenzi was requested but, at press time, she had not responded.
