Mega Millions Choice Lottery offers plenty

The 2019 St. Boniface Hospital Foundation Mega Million Choices Lottery is back and bigger than ever.

The lottery offers ticket-buyers an opportunity to win thousands of prizes while also raising funds for research, equipment and patient care at St. Boniface Hospital and Research Centre.

“Since the inception of the lottery,and including last year, this program has raised over $14 million for St. Boniface Hospital,” said Vince Barletta, president and chief executive officer of St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.

The big winner of this year’s lottery will get to choose from seven grand prize options, six of which come with a variety of furnishings, vehicles and cash top-ups. 

The first package, valued at $1.5 million, features a custom-designed, two-storey, 3,322-square-foot home by Foxridge at 364 Willow Creek Rd. in Bridgwater Trails, along with furnishings, a Jaguar convertible and $75,000 cash.

Other prize packages feature an 1,800-square-foot Hearth Homes bungalow in Taylor Farm; two townhomes by Signature Homes in Bridgwater Trails; a Hearth Homes raised-bungalow in Sage Creek; a Signature Homes townhome in Bridgwater Trails plus a condo in Osoyoos. B.C.; or a two-storey lakeside home in Kelowna, B.C.

Faced with such difficult choices, the winner can also opt to receive a cool $1.1 million in tax-free cash. There are more than 3,700 other prizes to win, with cash options available for all of them. If you buy early, you will also be eligible for loyalty prizes and early bird draws worth over $225,000.

Tickets for the 2019 St. Boniface Hospital Foundation Mega Millions Lottery cost $100 for one, $175 for two, $300 for four or $500 for eight. They are available online at stbmegamillionchoices.ca or by phone at 204-256-7203 or toll-free at 1-855-256-7203. Tickets are also available in person at the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation offices in the Everett Atrium at St. Boniface Hospital; at London Drugs, St. Vital Centre; all Red River Co-op food stores, the Co-op Pharmacy on Main Street; and at select Shoppers Drug Mart locations. 

Buyers can also buy tickets for a 50/50 Plus draw featuring a jackpot that can grow to $2 million (with half going to the winner), and the lottery’s Big Score Plus draw will feature a winner each day for 50 days plus the opportunity to win trips to see the Winnipeg Jets play a road game in Canada in the 2019-20 season or a trip to see a game in the 2019 Stanley Cup final series. 

The 50/50 tickets cost $20 for two, $40 for five or $60 for 30, while the Big Score Plus tickets cost $20 for two, $40 for five or $60 for 10. 

Final sale date for tickets of all types is March 21. The grand prize draw and 50/50 draw will both take place on April 3.
