In addition to being a talented musician and songwriter, area resident Keith Macpherson is also a wellness expert who believes that through yoga and meditation everyone can find balance, inner-peace, health and wisdom.

On Aug. 20, Keith, along with Maurice and Tracy Thibideau, is hosting the I Am Festival, a truly unique opportunity for people to “unplug” from their daily lives and reconnect with their bodies and souls.

Held in Teulon, Man., the one-day event brings the community together in the wilderness.

“About a year ago I was out at my friend’s place just outside of Teulon. They live on an exceptional acreage of land and we got discussing the idea of hosting an event there  that combined all the different elements of wellness.” Keith recalls. “The next thing we knew, The I Am festival was created!”

The day’s plan is very diverse in that there will be various levels of yoga classes being taught including a standup paddleboarding yoga class.

“There will be musicians sharing songs and stories with a mainstage concert in the evening,” Keith says.

“Free massage therapy is being offered, nature walks through forest trails and various lectures and workshops on wellness areas covering mindfulness, healing techniques, hypnotherapy, writing and art therapy.

“Overall the festival intends to create a loving community atmosphere for new connections and synergy to happen.”

Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of yoga or meditation experience.

“This festival is aimed at people who want to unplug from the busy-ness of their lives and get connected back to their inner peace in an environment surrounded by nature and other like minded people,” Keith says.
