Big changes are coming to Waverley West shortly.
If you take a drive down Kenaston Boulevard to the Perimeter Highway, you will pass the beginnings of the Bridgwater Town Centre, where Kenaston divides North Town Road and South Town Road.
The Red River Co-op gas station opened in June 2015 and Scotiabank appears to be opening very soon. Now a Save-On-Foods grocery store is set to open at Bridgwater Town Centre and some other locations in Winnipeg.
“Save-On-Foods is having their grand opening (Nov. 18) for all of their Winnipeg stores,” Brad Boyce, associate director, of retail leasing at Hopewell Development, said in an email.
Boyce was also able to provide a list of the other confirmed tenants for the Bridgwater Town Centre area:
“Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Liquor Store; Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of Montreal, Ultracuts, Aveda Salon, Pet Valu, Wyatt Insurance, Elite Physio, Tutti Frutti, a medical clinic, a dental clinic, Tim Hortons and Southglen Veterinary Hospital.
“We are also working on finalizing a number of other tenancies for the shopping centre. Most of these tenants will open up early-mid 2017. Construction on the pharmacy (east) side of Bridgwater Town Centre will happen next year.”
As most residents of Waverley West have had to travel a distance for the last few years to get groceries, have their hair done, pick up takeout or get a check up, it will be very exciting and helpful to have retail and other services right in our neighbourhood.
