Atticus McIlraith is once again leading the drive for donations of baby formula to help Manitoban families in need.
The teen kicked off the formula drive in support of Winnipeg Harvest last weekend with the goal of raising $25,000. An anonymous donor will be matching the first $2,500 in donations. Samples and coupons are also accepted.
McIlraith was recently honoured by the Manitoba chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and named the 2017 Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (Under 15) for his work with Winnipeg Harvest. He accepted the award on Nov. 15 at the RBC Convention Centre.
“His efforts in collecting infant formula and cash donations in the past four years has enabled Winnipeg Harvest to not only feed hungry infants and to give them a healthy start in life but he has created awareness among his peers and others to spread the word about child hunger and poverty”, said Winnipeg Harvest executive director Kate Brenner.
