It’s no secret that Winnipeg is known as a city with a multitude of diverse restaurants featuring cultures and flavours from around the world. Now, Mucho Burrito has been added to the list, bringing Mexican inspired food to Linden Woods
Mucho Burrito celebrated its first location in Winnipeg with a grand opening event on Dec. 6 at 2080 McGillivray Blvd. The all-day $5 burrito grand opening special was featured, among Mucho Burrito’s all-new signature burritos and bowls, as the crowds came in droves to enjoy all of the fresh food.
Owner and operator Sani Patel was excited about welcoming everyone from the community to celebrate the new restaurant.
“Our goal is to become the community’s leading ‘fresh Mexican grill’ by giving our guests a real food experience that offers a healthier alternative to traditional fast food,” he said.
The party began with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m and continued throughout the day with prize draws, and free samples all day.
“Four hundred people came and the most popular menu items were the apple smoked brisket bowl (beef brisket, chipotle and apple barbecue sauce, harvest squash and apple medley, poblano and avocado crema, crispy jalapeño chips), and the ghost pepper burrito (chargrilled chicken, ghost pepper bacon, ghost pepper and fig marmalade, Monterey Jack cheese, medium salsa, diced jalapeño peppers, ghost pepper crema, fajita veggies, chipotle black beans, brown rice),” added Patel.
Mucho Burrito is proud of providing only real food made with fresh ingredients, prepared in the presence of customers. From the must-have fresh guacamole to the all-natural salsas using fire-roasted techniques, Mucho Burrito hopes to keep Winnipeggers coming back for more.
Mucho Burrito recently released an all-new menu featuring Beyond Meat veggie crumble, harvest squash and apple medley, roasted cauliflower, and new signature burritos and bowls that include the popular Ghost Pepper Burrito and Chipotle Apple Smoked Brisket.
Mucho Burrito is Canada’s largest chain of premium fast-casual Mexican restaurants and a subsidiary of MTY Group, one of Canada’s leading restaurant hospitality food companies.
With the Kids Help Phone as its charitable partner, the business invites customers to make donations. Globally, it has embraced youth issues as a central cause and remains focused on its initiative to stop bullying, recently raising over $54,000 for Kids Help Phone Bullying Awareness initiatives.
Mucho Burrito has a catering menu and a kids menu. There are plenty of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options, and there’s also an easy-to-consult allergen chart for those with food allergies.
