On Sept. 15 the City of Winnipeg held an open house at the picnic shelter at Crescent Drive Park to reveal the initial plans for the park’s new pavilion.
PSAstudio inc. was elected as the winning response to a request for proposals to design and manage the construction of a new pavilion in Crescent Drive Park.
Feedback from the community was solicited at the open house and, according to a spokeswoman for the City of Winnipeg, designers will take the critiques into consideration and prepare construction drawings for the tender process in 2016. This project is expected to be in the $850,000 range, with construction beginning in the summer of 2016 and finishing in the winter of 2016.
The existing picnic shelter in Crescent Drive Park was constructed in the mid-1960s and is reaching the end of its serviceable life.
