The Marketplace to be demolished

Officials with The Marketplace in St. Norbert (3477 Pembina Hwy.) say the current building will be demolished and the property redeveloped. The market closed in January after a water supply ruptured in the store, causing significant flooding and water damage.

Demolition of the old store is beginning and a new, larger grocery store will be built on the site over the next year.

City seeks input for dog park master plan

With growing interest and demand in off-leash dog parks, the City of Winnipeg is seeking input from the public in drafting its Off-Leash Dog Areas Master Plan.

Currently, the City’s off-leash facilities are over-used. According to a release, the new master plan is intended to “develop a vision and implementation strategy for off-leash dog areas throughout Winnipeg.”

In drafting their plan, the City collected input from engagement sessions and online surveys through late 2017. Now, citizens are encouraged to review a draft of the master plan, and provide further feedback.

The survey, which will be available until May 20, can be found online at winnipeg.ca/offleashareas
