Some of the province’s best curlers are preparing to take to the ice this week, including one legendary local team from St. Vital.

 
CurlManitoba’s Scotties Tournament of Hearts runs Jan. 10 to 14 at the Shamrock Centre in Killarney, Man. The winner of the tournament will earn the right to represent Manitoba at the 2018 national Scotties tournament in Penticton, B.C. between Jan. 27 and Feb. 4.

According to a news release, the top five seeds for this year’s Scotties Tournament of Hearts are Team Jennifer Jones (St. Vital Curling Club); Team Kerri Einarson (East St. Paul Curling Club); Team Darcy Robertson (Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club); Team Shannon Birchard (Thistle Curling Club); and Team Briane Meilleur (Fort Rouge Curling Club).
