Super-Spike set to return this year

Super-Spike is back.

After a two-year pandemic-induced absence, Super-Spike — a large volleyball tournament combined with a concert series — will return to Maple Grove Rugby Park this summer.

The event is slated for July 22 and 23 at the park, located at 90 Frobisher Rd. in south St. Vital. Now in its 19th year, Super-Spike also has a fundraising component, and funds raised from this year’s event will be used to support Volleyball Manitoba and its grassroots programs.

Ultimate Frisbee will again be featured as an additional sport at the event, which will run in conjunction with the volleyball tournament, organizers say. Dance and pop are this year’s musical theme, and Delaney Jane and Rêve will headline the main stage concert.
