East Winnipeg sides excel at MSA provincial soccer championships

Manitoba Soccer Association’s provincial championships were held recently and there was plenty of success for grassroots east Winnipeg teams, which will now be preparing for their respective national championships in various cities in September.

In the U17 girls’ division, East St. Paul-based A.K. Soccer Academy beat 1v1 Futbol Dreams 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

In the U17 boys, St. Vital-based Bonivital Soccer Club beat A.K. Academy 4-2.

In the U15 girls, East Kildonan-based Winnipeg Phoenix Football Club beat 1v1 Futbol Dreams 1-0.

All matches were played at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex on July 29.
