High school cross country champs crowned

The Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association’s provincial cross country championships were held at Asessippi Ski Resort near Inglis, Man., on Oct. 11.

At the AAAA level, St. Paul’s won the varsity boys title with 22 points, while St. Mary’s Academy won the girls varsity title with 20 points. Miles Macdonell Collegiate earned both the boys and girls silver medals with 51 and 38 points, respectively. St. Paul’s also won the junior varsity boys title with 21 points, while Kelvin won the JV girls title with 36 points. Miles Mac earned another silver medal in the JV boys category, while Vincent Massey Collegiate earned the JV girls silver.

At the A/AAA level, Westgate Mennonite Collegiate won the varsity boys team title, with 31 points, while Carman Collegiate won the girls varsity title with 40 points. Westgate also won silver for junior varsity girls with 43 points, while Collège St. Norbert Collegiate finished third for JV boys with 48 points.
