Hudson De La Ronde is a 15-year-old athlete growing up with four sports-loving siblings — three brothers and a sister.
“I am the youngest. In the spring, summer and fall we play a lot of lacrosse. In the winter we play hockey,” he says. “I was around four when I started playing lacrosse. My dad played lacrosse when he was younger, so since I was a little kid lacrosse has always been in my blood.”
Hudson plays box lacrosse for the Manitoba Knights, which is a travel team, and for his club team, the Sidewinders.

Hudson De La Ronde is growing up in one of Winnipeg’s foremost lacrosse families.
“I love playing the sport and I love winning,” he says. “I also really enjoy meeting people through the sport — my best friends are from lacrosse. Two of my older brothers are playing in American colleges, and that is what I want to do as well.”
Hudson lives in Island Lakes with his dad Richard, mom Mavis, brothers Seth, Alexander, and Parker, and sister Kyra.
“I want to thank my mom and dad for committing to all of us, and for all they do,” he says. “I also want to thank my coaches Cruz Jimenez and Tyndall Fontaine for all they have taught me and how they have helped me to be my very best.”
Hudson is in Grade 10 at Collège Beliveau and says he’s enjoying it.
“I’m really liking science this year,” he says. “We’re in the lab a lot and experimenting.”
Hudson is a part of a lacrosse ‘royal family’ of sorts, and his goal reflects his upbringing.
“I want to one day play pro in the Premier Lacrosse League. Maybe there will be a couple of us boys playing pro. My parents would love that,” he says.
Hudson has this advice to share with other athletes: “Sometimes trying to get better can be tough. Be committed to being better. It takes a lot of hard work, but it will come if you work hard.”
