Justice Wormenor is a 16-year-old Grade 11 student at École Secondaire Sisler High School.

“School is going great,” he said. “It’s one of my top priorities, and my goal moving forward is to keep striving for excellence and earn scholarships for university. My favourite class, which is one of my best subjects, is math. I love critical thinking and problem solving using numbers and logic. I have already taken Grade 12 pre-calculus and plan on going for university level calculus in my Grade 12 year.”

Justice is a multi-sport athlete who enjoys track and field, golf, volleyball, and basketball, to name a few, but there is one sport he holds closest to his heart.

“I’ve loved soccer for as long as I can remember. As soon as I could walk, I was kicking a ball,” he said. “My family has always encouraged me to continue to pursue my dreams. I love the thrill of being on the field as well as the discipline and hard work to train, even when I don’t feel like it.

“Soccer gives me a challenge to always work harder and get better, which I truly love. Soccer is my passion. I have played for the AK Soccer Academy for the last six years. I really like the culture, coaches, players, and program there.”

Justice lives in the West End of the city with his mom Jaelynne, dad Simon, and his two younger sisters, Jubilee and Journey.

“Mom and Dad, you both are my biggest inspirations. Everything I do, I do with you in mind,” Justice said. “You’ve sacrificed so much and always supported me, and I’m forever grateful. I love you more than words can express.”

Justice is dedicated to playing the game at the highest level possible and hopes to secure a scholarship for soccer and academics at the college/university level.

Justice has this advice for young athletes:

“Push yourself. Two very simple words – but they are the game changer. People who are where they are today are there for a reason. Things don’t just happen by accident. If I had to sum up in one word, the difference between the greats and the average, just one attribute to describe the difference, it would be ‘discipline’. All champions have discipline. The discipline to work hard when nobody is watching, the discipline to say no, and the discipline to keep going even when it hurts. You got this, keep pushing yourself.”
