ST. JAMES-ASSINIBOIA
The wading pool at St. Charles Park (3624 Ness Ave.) has reopened following a $380,000 upgrade.
The upgrades include spray pad accents and rubberized surfacing to the pool and deck, as well as a new asphalt pathway from the parking lot, seating and landscaping.
The renovation project was funded through the city’s capital budget.
Courtney Czezowski, who lives in the area and is president of the Assiniboia West Recreation Association, said in a recent statement that she has fond memories of the wading pool.
“I’m now raising my family in the same area and can’t wait to watch my daughter have her experiences at this new and improved wading pool. This project is an excellent example of the type of community-focused areas our association strives to develop for our neighbourhood,” Czezowski said.
City-operated wading pools are open on a staggered basis. Locations and hours can be found online on the city’s recreation, leisure and parks webpage.
