BreastCheck mobile clinic coming to the south end

Women in Winnipeg’s south end will have easy access to cancer screening in their own community.

From Jan. 24 to Feb. 21, the ACCESS Fort Garry centre ( 135 Plaza Dr. ) will host CancerCare Manitoba’s BreastCheck Mobile Clinic. Cancer screening helps find cancer early before symptoms appear, when it may be easier to treat.

“We know that accessing health services downtown is sometimes a barrier, and many newcomers in our community may also not be aware of this important screening,” said Jennifer Chen, a member of CancerCare Manitoba’s newcomer advisory committee. “It is important to ensure that life-saving health services are easily accessible for everyone.”
