Now that new trees planted in 2022 have leafed out, Trees Riverview celebrated the funders who supported its mission of tree planting and public education. The 44 boulevard trees were planted largely with funding from the City of Winnipeg’s Land Dedication Reserve, supplemented by a grant from Red River Co-op and individual donations from Riverview residents. Pictured in front of this ivory silk lilac are (from left) Craig Gilpin, CEO, Red River Co-op; Coun. Sherri Rollins (Fort Rouge-East Fort Garry); Kelly Romas, marketing director, Red River Co-op; Dennis Cunningham, manager of environmental sustainability, Assiniboine Credit Union; Alyssa Kost, community partnership and event co-ordinator, Red River Co-op; May Wady, co-chair, Trees Riverview; and Wendy Botkin, Trees Riverview.
