Manitoba’s 43rd general election was held on Oct. 3 in 57 electoral districts across the province.
Wab Kinew, leader of the provincial New Democratic Party, became the province’s first First Nations premier — and the first First Nations provincial premier in Canada — after leading his party to a resounding victory over the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba, led by Heather Stefanson.
The final seat tally was:

Both Stefanson and the Manitoba Liberal Party’s Dougald Lamont resigned as leaders of their parties as results became apparent on election night.
