The Assiniboia community committee held a special meeting on April 2.

Plans for a development consisting of three residential buildings were approved for 490 Shaftesbury Blvd., in the Tuxedo neighbourhood. The site, which is currently vacant, is 61,211 square-feet — or 1.41 acres — in size. If completed, the development will include 58 dwelling units , spread across a five-storey apartment building containing 23 units, and two four-storey apartment buildings of 17 and 18 units, respectively.

Plans also call for 80 parking spots, 72 of which will be underground. The remaining eight, above-ground stalls will be for visitors.

Due to the size of the space, 45 trees, 530 shrubs, 346 ornamental grasses and seven vines will be planted on-site.
