Construction is well underway on a new childcare centre at Riverview Health Centre.

The $5.6 million centre, which is to be operated by Inspired by Wonder Inc., will offer 16 infant and 64 preschool spaces once it opens. According to a release, it will also feature an “intergenerational child-care program aimed at bringing together older adults and younger children through structured activities, creating mutually beneficial relationships that foster social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.”

“This new centre ensures staff have reliable care options close to their workplace, reducing stress and improving work-life balance,” Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care Minister Uzoma Asagwara said in a statement. “It’s an investment in the well-being of our health-care professionals and the children who will benefit from inclusive, nurturing early learning environments.”
