Jewish film festival to run May 6 to 23
There will be plenty to see at the upcoming 2026 Winnipeg International Jewish Film Festival from May 6 to 23.
The festival — presented with the support ofhe Asper Foundation’s cultural enrichment initiative — celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
Organizers say most of the screenings will take place at the Berney Theatre on the Asper Jewish Community Campus at 123 Doncaster St., and will showcase films from around the world, including documentaries, features, dramas and comedies that reflect the richness and complexity of Jewish life and storytelling.
The full lineup includes more than 20 films, including Jaffa Stories; A Letter to David (Michtav Le’David); Lucky Star (La Bonne Étoile); We Met at Grossingers; Labors of Love: The Life and Legacy of Henrietta Szold; and You Had to Be There.
The festival also includes special events and screenings across the city, including Shorts on Sherbrook at The Handsome Daughter (61 Sherbrook St.), and a special screening of La Cache (The Safe House) Centre at culturel franco-manitobain (340 Provencher Blvd.).

L.W.C.C. accepting vendor applications for farmers’ market
Organizers of Linden Woods Community Centre’s upcoming farmers’ market are accepting applications from prospective vendors.
The second annual market will run through July, August and September on Thursdays from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
There will also be a fall harvest festival on Sunday, Sept. 20 from noon to 4 p.m.
The market will be held each week in the parking lot of the centre, located at 414 Lindenwood Dr. W.
