Folklorama set for Aug. 2 to 15

After countless hours of planning, preparation and volunteer contributions, the 55th annual Folklorama festival is little more than a month away.
This year’s Folklorama festival will run from Sunday, Aug. 3 to Saturday, Aug. 16, and showcase 45 pavilions at venues across the city that encapsulate what makes Winnipeg such a vibrant, diverse and eclectic place to live or visit.
Week 1 pavilions (Aug. 2 to 8) in west Winnipeg include:
• Budapest-Hungaria (Bord-Aire Community Centre — 471 Hampton St);
• Casa do Minho Portuguese (Casa do Minho Portuguese Centre — 1080 Wall St.);
• Chilean Pavilion (RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg, south building, third floor — 375 York Ave.);
• Croatian (Red River Community Centre — 293 Murray Ave.);
• First Nations (RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg, north building, second floor — 375 York Ave.);
• German (West Kildonan Collegiate — 101 Ridgecrest Ave.);
• Greek (St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church — 2255 Grant Ave.);
• India (Pembina Curling Club — 1341 Pembina Hwy.);

• Ethiopian (Ethiopian Cultural Centre — 215 Selkirk Ave.);
