A Philippines national hero was immortalized in Winnipeg recently.
On June 21, The Order of the Knights of Rizal, Winnipeg Chapter unveiled a boulder memorial to Dr. José Rizal, a Filipino writer whose execution in 1896 ignited the Philippine Revolution. The memorial is located at the new Dr. José Rizal Park, located at the corner of Khalsa Street and Sewa Crescent.
