Great first week for Folklorama

The Punjab Pavilion (1770 King Edward St.) and the Japanese Pavilion (515 College Ave.) kicked off the first week of the 2018 Folklorama from Aug. 5 to Aug. 11.

Both pavilions featured traditional music and dance. The Punjab Pavilion once again performed energetic dances in colourful traditional garb. A highlight of the Japanese Pavilion is always the Hinode Taiko group’s presentation, but this year, the singing group Karakoro Eisa from Osaka, Japan flew in from Vancouver to sing for two days.
