Assiniboine Park Conservancy is seeking volunteers to fill several roles in its park and zoo throughout the summer season.

Positions are open to anyone 14 and older. Young people aged 14 to 18 are encouraged to apply for positions on the camp crew team, to be teen engagement ambassadors, or to be members of the conservation outreach and leadership teams.

Adults can apply for a number of roles around the zoo and park — with the animal care workforce, as visitor service concierges, special events assistants and engagement ambassadors.

“Volunteers play a key role in the delivery of exceptional experiences at the Zoo, The Leaf, and Park,” said Shaun Leonoff, manager of volunteer resources, in a release. “Our volunteers are essential members of the organization and enable us to host numerous programs and events in the park throughout the year.”

Schedules are flexible, but volunteering is a long-term commitment, with a minimum of 60 hours for adults and 40 hours for teens per year. Training will be done on-site at either the zoo, The Leaf, or in the park.

The application deadline is June 16. To apply, visit assiniboinepark.ca/volunteer
