Easter will be here before you know it, so get your eggs painted nice and early this year.
The Ogniwo Polish Museum Society is hosting two Easter egg-decorating workshops on March 23 from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1-3 p.m.

The museum, located at 1417 Main St., will teach participants in the finer points of making pisanki — the highly decorative eggs which have been used in a variety of Polish traditions throughout the year for centuries.

A release issued by the museum society notes the egg is a powerful symbol in Polish folklore, and has been for a millenia. Pisanki were even given to one’s beloved as a token of engagement of sorts. For more information, please call 204-586-5070 or e-mail info@polishmuseum.com.
