Capitol Lodge installs Galapon as new master

 Last December, at the East Kildonan Masonic Temple on Kimberly Avenue, Richard Rey Galapon was installed the new worshipful master of Capitol Lodge No. 136 under the jurisdiction of the of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Manitoba.

Galapon will lead the other elected and appointed officers of the Lodge for the Masonic Year 2013.

The installation ceremony was performed by most worshipful brother Steve Kane, a past grand master of the Grand Lodge of Manitoba, and Craig Kirby was the installing director of ceremonies.

 Aside from officers and brethren, Galapon’s wife Prima, son Santie and daughters Ollie and Thea were in attendance, along with relatives, friends and other brethren coming from other Lodges under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Manitoba.

  After the ceremony, a sumptuous dinner prepared by the Lodge was served at the Lodge dining hall. The participants enjoyed the food, warm fellowship and camaraderie with each other.

 Galapon was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in October  2007. Since becoming a Mason he has occupied several Lodge positions — junior steward, senior steward, junior deacon, senior deacon, junior warden, and lately senior warden before becoming the Lodge’s Master for 2013. He has participated in several Lodge ceremonies and activities — delivering lectures, offering mentorship and examining candidates for Freemasonry.

 The new worshipful master asked for the support of Lodge officers and brethren members in carrying out his program of activities for the Lodge with a goal enhancing attendance, masonic education, lodge works proficiency, Grand Lodge support and other activities that will benefit Masonry in general and the Lodge in particular.

 “Being the Master of the Lodge is not an easy task but with the help of the brethren, I am sure that we will be able to achieve our goal for the next 12 months”, Galapon said.
