The West Indian Indo Canadian Organization of Manitoba celebrated Indian Arrival Day on Sat., May 24 at the Caribbean Cultural Centre (1100 Fife St.). Over 200 people attended the event, which featured cultural music, dance and food. Indian Arrival Day recognizes the arrival of indentured Indian labourers to the nations of the Caribbean in May 1938. Top: Aveena and Quiana Kumar perform during Indian Arrival Day celebrations.
