The Manitoba Liberal party is hoping Cindy Lamoureux will follow in her father’s footsteps.

On Jan. 16, the Liberals announced that Lamoureux, the daughter of Winnipeg North MP Kevin Lamoureux, will be the party’s candidate in the Burrows riding for the 2016 provincial election.

“Cindy is a young community activist with deep family roots in Manitoba Liberal politics. Her commitment to her community and fresh ideas are a fantastic addition to our team,” said Liberal leader Rana Bokhari in a press release.

Lamoureux said in the press release that people in Burrows want practical solutions to issues like “high unemployment, inadequate childcare and too few supports for low-income families.”

“It’s time for real solutions in Burrows. The Liberal Party is offering those solutions,” she said.
