Holy Mass highlights celebration

In spite of the rain on Sun., May 17, celebrants marked the 23 year anniversary of the El Shaddai DWXI — Prayer Partners Fellowship International Winnipeg Chapter at St. Gerard School Gym (40 Foster Street) with a Holy Mass officiated by Reverend Father Rodrigo Lazarte.

There was a special presentation and sharing by the El Shaddai Saskatoon Chapter, led by Sister Emmie Perez. Others who shared during the ceremony were randomly selected from the participants, including Bro. Ricky delos Santos, Sister Benidecta Camungol, Sister Daisy Reyes, Bro. Roberto Caranto and Sister Jennet Zapanta Vergara.

Gospel music was provided by the music ministry headed by Bro. Alex Castello and Bro. Gerry Panaligan and the congregation’s choir. The children’s ministry, under the care of volunteer-member Sister Nureen Camungol, rendered a singing presentation for the celebration.

A healing message was delivered by Bro. Willie Lawas, a disciple-preacher from San Francisco, Calif., who was the event’s resource speaker. He was sent to Winnipeg Chapter for the celebration by the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI  executive council secretariat in Los Angeles, Calif., under the direction of international co-ordinator Sister Mae Hartberg with the approval of Servant Leader Bro. Mike Velarde from El Shaddai head office in Manila, Philippines.

The short program was emceed by Bro. Donnel Custodio and Sister Juliet Monsalud.

Among the special guests present were Cris Aglugub (former MLA for the Maples), Adoracion Ellen Chua (past president of the Pangasinan Group of Manitoba), Sister Emmie Perez (El Shaddai Saskatoon Chapter co-ordinator) and others.

The El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI Winnipeg Chapter council members, who manage the affairs of the congregation are: Bro. Norberto Bulado, Bro. Michael Arididon, Sister Reggie Borja and Sister Vicky Paredes.

Sister Reggie Borga was the co-ordinator for the month of May. Other congregations’ local resource speakers present at the celebration were Bro. Gerry Marquez, Bro. Johnny Camungol, Bro. Jhess Estillore, Bro. Nestor Terrible, Bro. Romy De Leon and Bro, Donnel Custodio. Reverend Father Greg Mulligan is the spiritual director of the congregation.

The Catholic Charismatic renewal fellowship holds its weekly prayer meeting every Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (45 Foster St.).
