Almost 1,400 children in YMCA-YWCA’s child care program raised $15,000 for North End children on June 6 during the Kids Helping Kids fundraising walk. The money will allow children to access programs and services available at the North Y Youth Centre. The North Y is a safe and welcoming place where kids can connect with one another and engage in activities that promote healthy living, foster social responsibility and nurture potential.
“The message that our North Y kids get is that there are people out there who care enough about them that they want to help,” Ken Mason, manager of child and youth care opportunities, said. “That’s really amazing, and I know it means a lot to each of them.”
