Gophertronics have a blast at FIRST Robotics Competition

The Garden City Collegiate robotics team Gophertronics placed 27th out of 52 teams, and second place between the other first and second year teams, in the rookie category in the regional FIRST Robotics Competition in Grand Forks, N.D., on March 15 and 16. The four-foot robot is named Opportunity. The team of 12 students took 150 hours to build the robot. They were also invited to the Northern Minnesota Robotics Conference and unofficial affiliated competition. The date and venue is still to be determined.
