Deadly explosions: At least 30 people were killed this morning in Brussels when explosions rocked the Belgian city’s airport and metro station. Authorities are investigating the explosions as potential attacks. The first explosion hit the airport near the check-in area at approximately 8 a.m. local time (2 a.m. CDT). READ MORE

The chief speaks: Winnipeg Police Chief Devon Clunis admits policing costs in the city are unsustainable, but he’s hopeful addressing social issues will reduce the need for some police resources in the future. Clunis spoke with reporters Monday, the day before the municipal budget is to be approved by Winnipeg city council with a $2.45-million police budget shortfall. READ MORE

Liquor & Lotteries bamboozled: Someone swindled nearly $500,000 from Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries between mid-November 2015 and mid-January – and now the Crown corporation is suing to try and get it back. MLL paid the money to a bank account in Red Deer, Alta., it believed belonged to a supplier, however, the account belonged to an unidentified person. A criminal investigation is also taking place.
