Storm in the southwest: Several funnel clouds were reported in southwestern Manitoba Monday evening, including one tornado in Waywayseecappo First Nation that destroyed at least one home. Reports from the community suggest several other homes sustained damage. The Canadian Red Cross said it received a request to help out the First Nation and no injuries have been reported. READ MORE
Your forecast: It’s a generally gloomy forecast for the next several days. There’s a 30 per cent chance of showers this morning followed by a mix of sun and cloud near noon. Expect a high of 22. A 20-km/h west wind will give way to a 30-km/h north wind later this morning. It will clear tonight but the cloudiness will return before tomorrow morning. For the rest of the week, we’re looking at a cloudy day tomorrow with a high of 23; there’s a 60 per cent chance of showers on Thursday and a 40 per cent chance of showers on Friday.

Mercedes in Gimli: Mercedes-Benz will bring a winter sport driving program to Lake Winnipeg this winter — the first time the German auto manufacture has offered the course outside Sweden. Two programs will be offered over five weeks, starting this Jan. 30 and ending Feb. 27.
