Worst phone call ever: Dan Nemis literally fell on the floor when he was called by staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, who said his 99-year-old mother had died after being treated for a sprained ankle. The notification was a mistake. Sophie Nemis is preparing to celebrate her 100th birthday in December. The error was due to a paperwork mix-up by hospital staff, who have apologized repeatedly. Trent Milan. The officer died in the crash. There is suspicion he purposely drove head-on into Morgan’s truck because the police officer was charged two weeks ago with 34 criminal offences. Drone debate: Air-industry lobbyists were at city hall on Tuesday to urge better regulation and sale of drones in Winnipeg. They cited an example in which an off-duty air traffic controller at Assiniboine Park spotted a drone and told the drone handler it was dangerous because the park is too close to the airport and plane traffic, and the drone handler responded “belligerently.” Kristin Annable reports.
