Questions from community: Some members of the local Yazidi community are raising concerns about an effort to rescue other members of the persecuted religious minority. “While we greatly appreciate everything that has been done on behalf of members of our community by Operation Ezra, there are many questions about how the families that have been brought here by Operation Ezra were selected,” a letter to the Jewish Post and News signed by 32 members of the Yazidi community states. Rainy days at Red River Ex: The weather was often wet and chilly during the Red River Exhibition, with rain on nine days of its 10-day run. “I can’t — and nobody can — remember that many days of bad weather,” says Garth Rogerson, CEO of the Red River Exhibition Association. History behind home: Ashleigh Banfield, a CNN analyst and descendant of a former owner of the Dennistoun House, returned to Winnipeg earlier this year to make a short documentary on the history of the Rosyln Road home. Her great-grandfather Robert Maxwell Dennistoun was a lawyer and judge.
