Crown to question cop: Prosecutors are expected to cross-examine Winnipeg police officer Remi Van Den Driessche — who is on trial for sexual harassment — today. Brexit breakthrough: The United Kingdom and the European Union reached a deal today that opens the door for more negotiations on their post-Brexit relationship. In part, the agreement states there will be no hard border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, which is part of the U.K. and will be its only border shared with the EU.
Clash over capital: Hundreds of Palestinians clashed with Israeli security forces in the West Bank after midday prayers Friday. Thousands took to the streets there and in Gaza to protest the decision by U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. READ MORE

Comment ‘misconstrued,’ premier says: Premier Brian Pallister released a statement Thursday night after being criticized for thanking Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce chairwoman Johanna Hurme for wearing high heels at a luncheon. Pallister says he often make light-hearted comments about being tall. “I made an awkward reference to Johanna’s high heels in that context.
