On Dec. 21, 1961: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that RCMP officers raided a Talbot Avenue drugstore, arresting two druggists on charges of unlawfully trafficking in a controlled drug; the RCMP alleged it was barbiturates the two were selling illegally. A proposed job freeze for Canada’s 110,000 non-operating railway employees was touted by union representatives as new negotiations with Canada’s railways were set to begin. READ MORE
