On Feb. 12, 1993: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that Winnipeg police chief Dale Henry announced seven city police officers had been criminally charged; a number faced assault charges, others faced alcohol-related charges. A stolen truck was apparently the method chosen by a Winnipeg man to end his own life; a witness described the scene of the stolen vehicle’s subsequent explosive crash.
