School’s out: Classes that take place in seven buildings on the University of Manitoba’s Fort Garry campus are cancelled today because of a power outage, the institution said last night. It’s expected power will be restored sometime today, the U of M said.

On April 2, 1918: The Manitoba Free Press reported that rioting in Quebec City had resulted in three civilian deaths as rioters clashed with military forces who had taken over policing in the city; 100 people were arrested, and authorities believed the ringleaders of the unrest were from outside the province.
